Ligia Tavera Fenollosa is Professor and researcher at Flacso Mexico and professor at the José María Luis Mora Research Institute. She has taught courses at the Centro de Estudios y Docencia Económicas (CIDE) and at the Tecnológico de Monterrey, Mexico City Campus. She is tutor of the PhD Program in Latin American Studies of the Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México. She has directed more than 30 master’s and doctoral theses in various institutions of higher education. She has been director of Perfiles Latinoamericanos, the flagship academic journal of Flacso Mexico.
Ligia holds a PhD in sociology from Yale University (United States), where she also obtained her master’s degree. She holds a degree in Social Sciences from the Instituto Tecnológico Autónomo de México (ITAM). She regularly participates in the radio program “Política en Plural” (Plural Policy) broadcast by Radio Educación on Thursdays from 8:30 to 9:30. She is a member of the Mexican National System of Researchers, Level I.
