Ramón Llopis Goig

Ramón Llopis Goig holds a PhD in Sociology (1996) and is an Associate Professor at the Faculty of Social Sciences in the University of Valencia (Spain), where he teaches several courses in the area of Sociology. He has been Visiting Scholar Research at the University of Leicester (UK), at the European University Institute of Florence (Italy) and at the University of Cork (Ireland). Previously he has occupied positions of technical and management responsibility in several multinational companies of public opinion and marketing research. In the past ten years he has focused his research in the fields of sociology of culture, sport and leisure, as well as in the relations between consumption, structure and social change. Currently he is member of a project funded by the ERASMUS+ program entitled “Social Inclusion and Volunteering in Sports Clubs in Europe” (556994-EPP-1-2014-1-DK-SPO-SCP) and member of the project “Sociopolitical impacts of the collective collaborative action in social change” funded by the Spanish Ministry of Economy and Competitiveness (CSO2016-78107-R). He has also been member of the previous projects “Social reactions to the crisis and the precarization of life conditions in contemporary society: Belgium, Spain, France, Italy and Portugal [CSO 2011-23252, 2012/14] and “Life precariousness – Processes of precarization of social life and identity in the contemporary Spanish society” [CSO2008-00886, 2009/11]. His research has been published in a number of national and international mainstream journals including Revista Española de Investigaciones Sociológicas, Revista Internacional de Sociología, Revista Española de Sociología, Empiria, Política y Sociedad, and International Review for the Sociology of Sport, European Journal for Sport and Society, Research Quarterly for Exercise and Sport, Sport in Society, and International Journal of Consumer Studies.
